BETH ISRAEL HOSPITAL

Design: G5 Architects

This educational facility at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City is the brain child of Beatrice Renfield, a long time donor and supporter of nursing at Beth Israel. This project is intended to provide much needed relief for nursing personnel in the areas of education, counseling, and personal renewal. It includes conference rooms, classrooms, counseling and interview space, a library and reference area, and a meditation space.

Our contributions included full design interaction with the architects from the project's very inception. The architectural design was based on geomantic concepts relating to education, health care, and personal renewal. Feng shui was also used to determine optimal positioning and orientation of all functions. Materials and construction processes were also based on 5-element theory and other feng shui parameters.
