SCHOOL OF SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY BOARD OF EDUCATION, NEW YORK CITY Design: Heinz Roosli AIA The School of Science Technology is an initiative of the the Board of Education of New York City. Its purpose is to provide focused education in the sciences and technology to middle school students who have demonstrated early aptitude in these fields. Based on a seminar format, classes are small and focus primarily on scientific theory, sustainability, and practical applications of technological innovation. Our mission was to evaluate the site and provide recommendations for improvements to the existing facility. This included evaluations of energy flow, color management, and orientation with the express purpose of improving student involvement, class participation, and alertness.
