| AYURVEDIC GARDEN
Cuernavaca, Mexico

Horticulture & Garden Design: Maria Delgado Soliz
This garden is a brilliant example of healing horticulture. It incorporates
gardening traditions from both East and West. Although it is primarily
used for the production of Ayurvedic herbal compounds, and is therefore
based on traditional Ayurvedic gardening principles, it also incorporates
permaculture, biodynamics, and bau-biology in its design and execution.
Organized around a central stone courtyard, the plants are arranged in
concentric rings. Master Plants are placed closer to the center. The entire
complex covers over 100 acres and is focused on a sacred mountain which
looks over the main cultivation areas. Traditional Mexican deities are
also present, and their influence and protection is invoked as part of
the process of gardening and production of herbal compounds.
Feng shui input focused on site analysis, evaluation of earth energies,
and geopathic stress diagnosis. Earth healing procedures were used in
areas that required remediation.
