CONTINUUM HEALTH PARTNERS Manhattan, NY Design: Guenther Petrarca, AIA The Continuum Center for Health & Healing is a program set up by Continuum Health Partners, Inc. the parent corporation of Beth Israel, St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and Long Island College Hospital. The Center provides fully integrative care, employing therapies from both conventional medicine as well as alternative/complimentary modalities. In addition to its services as a provider of outpatient medical care, the Center conducts clinical research, and has undertaken educational, training and outreach programs. Our analysis included extensive interaction with the planning team as well as the architectural firm in charge of this project. The overall arrangement of the various functions within the Center follows Feng Shui principles, as do the colors, materials and proportions of all elements within the design scheme. The facility features the use of non-toxic materials to create a truly healing environment which will reflect the holistic approaches of the therapeutic modalities represented.
