CALIFORNIA PACIFIC MEDICAL CENTER e-ICU SUTTER HEALTH Sutter Health is one of the nation's leading not-for-profit networks of community-based health care providers, delivering high-quality care in more than 100 Northern California communities. It is also the regional leader in infant deliveries, neonatology, orthopedics, pediatrics and cancer care services. Sutter Health supports more than two dozen locally run acute care hospitals as well as physician organizations; medical research facilities; regionwide home health, hospice and occupational health networks; and long-term care centers. Our contributions included a full assessment of Sutter Health's California Pacific Medical Center Electronic ICU (e-ICU) in San Francisco. Based on state-of-the-art monotoring of pacients through remote sensing of vital signs, this e-ICU provides suplementary round-the-clock nursing care without the burden of additional costs. This e-ICU promises to be a model for additional remote nursing facilities around the country.
