| TEMPLE COURT LANDMARK
BUILDING
Park Place, Manhattan
Developer: Shire Realty
Design: John Petrarca AIA
This real estate project in
lower Manhattan is an experimental redevelopment project which attempts
to combine commercial and residential use within the context of a socially
and environmentally responsible building. Constructed in 1881 and designed
by Silliman and Farnsworth, Temple Court has been designated a Landmark
Building by the city of New York. It has been called the earliest
surviving, essentially unaltered, tall fireproof New York
office building of the period prior to the full development of the skyscraper
by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
Our contributions included
an assessment of uses and functions, extensive collaboration with the
architectural team, multiple Feng Shui cures, an earth healing, and blessings,
as well as an overview of the management team and its organizational structure.
Feng shui considerations were included in all phases of the project, from
the initial assessment of the building envelope, to the placement of functions
and equipment within the structure, as well as the selection of materials
and colors.
